ABSTRACT: The diversification of the current types of bullying among students due to the appearance of a new type of school violence, cyberbullying, has led to a series of reevaluations regarding the definition of school violence and the risks that are likely to appear in the education and development of students. The present paper offers a comparative analysisof the roles ofthe students involvedinbullyingand those of the students involved incyberbullying.Inthe manifestation ofthebullyingbehavior, students moveeasily from”beingan aggressorface to face”to committingsimilar aggressions in thecyber environment. Meanwhile,traditionalvictimshavenew opportunities ofexpressionviatechnologically mediateddevices. Thus, in the current context, the gameof violenceamong studentscreatesmuchhigher risksof developing long-term negativepsychologicalconsequences. However, students can alsoacquireeffective waysof managing thisproblem, generating somepositive consequencesfor theirresilient development.
